Houses 02 + 03 – Gründerzeit houses

The Gründerzeit architecture of our two old buildings has been extensively renovated.

The generous floorplans feature a grand central hallway which opens onto up to 5 living rooms. The living space is enhanced by south-facing balconies looking out towards the ECB parking area and north-facing loggias or terraces that overlook a quiet inner courtyard. These provide the apartments with natural ventilation, daylight and outdoor spaces, enabling them to meet virtually all the individual requirements of residents.

The special ceiling height of 3.11 m gives the penthouse a highly desirable old-style flair. The apartment is light and airy with outdoor spaces, which means it meets virtually all the individual requirements of residents. The hardwood parquet is reflected in the impressive wooden entrance doors. The brass fittings and classic door handles in the apartments are reminiscent of Wilhelminian-style architecture: cornices, clinker and natural stone adorn the facades.

Wilhelminian-style architecture stands out from modern-day “box architecture” through its design principles. The buildings are the width of one apartment, similar to the urban villas found in London or Amsterdam, and therefore convey a sense of planned “proportionality“ in line with people’s needs.
